This training is designed to build home visitors’ confidence and competence in fulfilling their responsibilities as mandated reporters while supporting families with empathy, cultural humility, and an understanding of systemic inequities. Participants will learn the components of Michigan’s Child Protection Law, including how to recognize signs of potential abuse or neglect and how to make a report to the department, all while considering the role of implicit bias and disproportionality.
This session supports the Professional Practice area of the Michigan Home Visiting Core Knowledge Framework.
