The Health Education Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of health education and outreach programs and initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes for St. Clair County residents. This role encompasses the role of health department Public Information Officer (PIO), leading communication strategies to inform the public, media, and stakeholders regarding public health related issues, initiatives, and emergencies. The Health Education Manager provides key leadership in fostering community engagement and building effective relationships with both internal and external audiences to promote health and wellness in the local community.
This position requires strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to plan, organize and execute a public health education programs in the county. Ability to exercise independent judgment. To assess community health needs, and make recommendations for public health programs accordingly. Supervise and manage multiple grants and Health Education staff; direct Outreach Program activities and staff; and to perform related work as required. In addition, this position, will be highly engaged in creating, implementing and facilitating various agency wide plans and goals, such as the Health Department Strategic Plan, St Clair County Behavioral Risk Factor Survey/Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan.
