Perinatal Mental Health Screening Project - Deciding when to screen and why

Meeting Dates:
Wednesday, January 25, 2023
Meeting Time and Location:

2-3pm

Note:

Please join representatives from the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance and the March of Dimes as we introduce our Framework for Perinatal Mental Health Education & Screening, a community-informed framework for when to screen for perinatal mental health disorders throughout pregnancy and the first full year postpartum.

The introduction of this Framework marks the end of a year-long effort to develop an ideal timeline for perinatal mental health screening. We hope that you see the immense value in this peer-generated work and look forward to engaging you in our ongoing efforts to increase the frequency and quality of screening for perinatal mental health conditions for all.

In January 2022, the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance (MMHLA) and the March of Dimes launched the Perinatal Mental Health Education & Screening Project, a year-long multi-disciplinary collaborative effort aimed at synthesizing screening recommendations from a variety of medical organizations into a suggested framework focused specifically on when to provide patient education and screening for perinatal mental health. Next steps in the project will focus on addressing barriers to patient education and screening.

MMHLA and MOD will host a webinar, January 25 from 2-3pm EST, to introduce the Framework for PMH Education and Screening.
