We plan to limit the size of the group in order to foster active participation in this workshop. Selection for this free workshop series will include but is not limited to epidemiologists, sanitarians, public health nurses, health communication staff, community health workers and emergency preparedness and response coordinators, with preference to those in Michigan but open to others in Region V states (Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin) and beyond. Free CE is pending for nurses, sanitarians, and those Certified in Public Health (CPH). A Certificate of Completion will also be available for 1.5 contact hours. This training will serve as a refresher on outbreak investigations for public health practitioners with some prior experience. This is an opportunity to problem-solve and learn from peers across disciplines. The session will include an overview on outbreak investigations, a guided case study in small interdisciplinary teams, and a large group synthesis. This training will integrate a quality improvement (QI) approach to outbreak investigations.
