Behavioral Health Apps Webinar

Meeting Dates:
Tuesday, April 5, 2022
Meeting Time and Location:

1-2pm

Note:

Now more than ever, people turn to the internet and phone apps to understand and manage health issues, including behavioral health challenges. The options are plentiful: upwards of 10,000 mental health applications are currently available for download.

With the increasing rates of behavioral health disorders and the limited capacity of the workforce, it's important that behavioral health providers, health departments, and other nonprofits recognize the power of this technology. This webinar will discuss popular apps designed to improve behavioral health and wellness symptoms, review key considerations including efficacy and affordability, and highlight the use of apps by Michigan grant partners.

The webinar will also include a presentation by John Torous, M.D., M.B.I. Dr. Torous is a board-certified psychiatrist and clinical informaticist. He directs the Division of Digital Psychiatry at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, where he runs a clinic using smartphones to augment treatment, develops open-source digital tools, conducts research, and teaches.

Join the Health Fund and National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors Research Institute in this conversation on April 5 from 1 to 2 p.m.
