2023 Sex & Drugs Training: The Intersectionality Between HIV/STI, Hep C & Harm Reduction Part 2

This virtual update is a continuation of the Sex & Drugs: The Intersectionality Between HIV/STI, Hep C & Harm Reduction Training hosted by the Partner Services Program in October 2022. This update will offer a brief overview of chemsex, including communities impacted, the range of use and commonly used terms. This training will further discuss the impact of substances use on HIV, STIs & Hep C, and the importance of strengthening harm reduction methodology and motivational interviewing to support the wellness of clients.

Intended Audience: All interested persons are welcome to apply to attend update training courses. Applicants who are employed and/or volunteering at a State-funded agency may receive priority for course placement.

Participation Requirements: In order to receive proof of attendance, training participants are required to log into the virtual platform on time, attend the entire training, and have microphone and camera access. Attendance log-in and out times will be monitored. Do not plan to arrive late or leave early. Late arrival is considered logging into the training fifteen (15) minutes after the start of the training. Late arrivals will not be permitted to enter the virtual training and will result in a no-call/no-show for training attendance; supervisors will be notified.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations or modifications must be made no later than two (2) business days prior to the training date. Applicants who are unable to attend any trainings for which they are registered must contact the Training Unit at MDHHS-BHSPtraining@michigan.gov. Failure to do so will classify the participant as a no-call/no-show and may result in lost priority when registering for future trainings.
