Wednesday, April 17 Pre Conference Workshops

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Communicable Disease Division and the Minnesota Department of Health, Foodborne Diseases Unit, are jointly presenting two separate workshops for communicable disease nurses, epidemiologists and environmental health staff. The two workshops are described below:

Interview Techniques Review Workshop -10:00 am to 12:00 pm This is a condensed version of the pre-conference workshop offered last year that focused on interviewing techniques for enteric illness investigations. 

Outbreak Investigation Workshop - 1:00 to 4:00 pm The workshop will largely focus on enteric illness outbreak investigations involving restaurants. 

Thursday, April 18 Communicable Disease Conference

Michigan's State and Local Public Health partnership conference providing the latest knowledge and best practices for communicable disease diagnosis, surveillance, reporting, laboratory test interpretation, and incorporation of epidemiologic principles.

We are please to announce Dr. Emily Martin from the University of Michigan as our keynote speaker. Dr. Martin will be speaking on "Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness: Local Data with Global Impact"
