This webinar will explore the dynamics of research evidence in mental health policymaking and policy implementation. In addition, the webinar will delve into advancing a public health approach for suicide prevention through evidence-based strategies and policies to support individuals with serious mental illness and/or children with serious emotional disturbance.
Learning Objectives • Increase knowledge about evidence-based policies to support mental health promotion. • Learn about evidence-based strategies and policies for preventing suicide using a public health approach. • Learn from their peers with serious mental illness (SMI) or children with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and the impact of policy to prevent suicide and promote mental health. \

• Dr. Jonathan Purtle, Associate Professor of Public Health Policy & Management and Director of Policy Research at New York University's Global Center for Implementation Science. Dr. Purtle is a mental health policy researcher and implementation scientist.
• Dr. Holly Wilcox, Professor in the Department of Mental Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
