The Vision and Hearing Technician works under the supervision of the Hearing & Vision School Screening Coordinator. Technicians assist in the implementation of the health department’s school vision and hearing screening programs by performing a variety of vision and/or hearing screening tests in area schools, recording and maintaining screening information, and making referrals to appropriate professionals.
Employment Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience & Required Skills:
· Successful completion of vision and/or hearing technician training provided by the Michigan Department of Community Health. (Training will be provided to employee but could require the employee to be away from home for up to 2 weeks while completing)
· Good communication and organizational skills
Special Requirement: Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License and reliable transportation, as work-related travel to schools and offices within the tri-county district is required.
Salary and Fringe Benefits:
This is a part-time position located in Coldwater; 45 hours per two-week pay period with a salary wage of $15.50 per hour and no benefits.
