Sanitarians work under the supervision of the Environmental Health Director and perform the on-site inspections at commercial, residential, or public locations in the district to determine conformity with federal, state and county sanitation and environmental health laws to safeguard the public health. They also provide consultation to the general public on environmental health and sanitation issues. Sanitarians are required to maintain records of activities and prepare related reports. The successful applicant will be performing on-site inspections of private wells, septic systems, campgrounds, public swimming pools, food service establishments and investigating nuisance complaints within the district and must provide their own reliable transportation.
