2017 World Workshop: A New Classification Scheme for Periodontal & Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions.
OBJECTIVES: Review the history of periodontal diagnosis, understanding of etiology, pathophysiology and the previous diagnostic classifications. Explain the need for revision of the older classification and the methodology used to create the new system. Introduce the current diagnostic classifications. Explain the staging and grading systems.
