Position: Environmental Health Specialist I / I

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
- Environmental Health Specialist I Performs technical work issuing permits and submitting pertinent reports on inspection activities, reporting recommendations to licensing agencies, issuing orders fromHealth Officer to correct deficiencies or imminent health hazards, conducting follow-up inspections to verify compliance, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned supervisor.
- Environmental Health Specialist II Performs intermediate technical work enforcing applicable laws that regulate environmental and sanitary conditions, promoting adherence to health conditions to determine if minimum standards are being met, authorizing, or denying permits, licenses, or right to operate certain businesses, conducting on-site inspections at industrial, commercial, residential, and public locations, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the assigned supervisor.
