About this Position: 

This position functions as the primary risk communications specialist for the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. This position has direct contact with departmental leadership, external stakeholder groups and leaders, and the public. It is responsible for various risk and crisis communication and emergency preparedness efforts including, but not limited to, training, facilitating and coordinating communications efforts, project management, writing and editing news releases, talking points and other informational pieces. This position acts as a specialist for staff, handling strategic risk and emergency communications and messaging. It is a specialist responsible for highly complex and specialized communication, collaboration, and emergency response communication duties.
