Education Committee
Conducts an annual survey of training needs and develops the association's training agenda.

Emergency Preparedness Committee
Assesses the resources and capacities necessary to allow local health departments in Michigan to be able to respond to and, to the extent possible, prevent public health emergencies. Was disbanded April 2005

Funding Committee 
Was rolled into the newly established Local Public Health System Improvement Committee in March 2008.

Governance Committee
Keeps the association's bylaws and operations manual up-to-date and accurate; assesses committee structure and liaison relationships.

Information Technology Committee
Established 02/13/06 to assess E-Health and to address current and future IT issues.

Legislative Committee 
Was rolled into the newly established Local Public Health System Improvement Committee in March 2008.

Local Public Health System Improvement Committee
Initiates long range public health improvement plan.  Reviews and recommends funding policies and positions.  Develops and implements the association's legislative and advocacy activities.  Responsible for revising the state council health code and providing education and recommendations to the board.

Nominating Committee
Develops an annual slate of officers and executive committee members slate.

Public Health Code Committee
Was rolled into the newly established Local Public Health System Improvement Committee in March 2008.

Public Health Conference Planning Committee
Plans Michigan's joint public health conference.
