One of MALPH's primary functions is to provide support to the six public health forums. The forums meet on a monthly basis to review developments in public health, review bills pending before the Michigan Legislature, and develop initiatives to improve local public health service delivery.

• Updates to members on legislative activity which affect local public health departments and the residents they serve
• A focus for coordinating information between the forums on public health issues
• Staff to track down information in response to the concerns and questions raised by members
• Staff support, including reports and briefings, to the MALPH Board of Directors
• Administrative and varying degrees of clerical support to MALPH Forums including mailings, minutes, telelconferencing support, arranging meeting sites, etc.
