This training will provide an overview of the Association of Public Health Nurses toolkit, The Role of Public Health Nurses in Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Recovery. Presenters will provide an overview of the toolkit, which crosswalks to relevant Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) capabilities, and will discuss how to apply its capabilities in various settings (rural vs. urban), with an emphasis on nursing leadership and public health nurses in response roles. A panel representing various sectors of nursing and emergency preparedness will provide insight into past emergencies and how to use the toolkit for future public health crises.
