Health Educator

Under the supervision of the Health Education and Promotion Supervisor, is responsible for promoting and maintaining the Community Health Agency’s health programs and completing outreach activities throughout the District.  Participates in community collaborative efforts to improve community health outcomes by assisting individuals, schools and communities to adopt healthy behaviors.  Collects and analyzes data to identify community needs.  Plans, implements, monitors and evaluates programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies and environments.  Promotes the visibility and awareness of the Agency and health news through radio, newspaper, and social media, including maintaining the Agency’s online presence.

Employment Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor's Degree in health education or related field 

Experience & Required Skills:

·         One or more years of experience in health education and/or health programming

·         Excellent communication and organizational skills

·         Strong computer skills, including use of Canva and PowerPoint

·         Skill in media relations and the use of social media.

·         Skill in assembling and analyzing data, preparing comprehensive and accurate reports and program development.

·         Skill in effectively communicating ideas and concepts orally and in writing, and making presentations in public forums.

·         Ability to critically assess situations and solve problems, and to work effectively under stress, within deadlines, changes in work priorities, and in emergency situations.

·         Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel throughout the district.

Special Requirement: Must have a valid Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance and reliable transportation, as work-related travel is required. 

Salary and Fringe Benefits:
