Note

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and I want to invite you, as an advocate for healthier communities, to participate in an in person one day conference highlighting active transportation and Safe Routes to School innovations.

Health officials are an integral part of the transportation conversation, along with local community leaders, planners and transportation experts, to explore solutions that increase healthier outcomes for residents, including:

  • Supporting bicycling and walking as a means to increased physical activity
  • Improving access to essential services
  • Reducing traffic injuries and fatalities

Because your work is so important to these solutions, conference registration is complimentary for health professionals.

Offered by the Michigan Association of Planning (MAP) in partnership with the MDHHS, the Safe Routes to School Program and the Michigan Department of Transportation, this year's event will be held in East Lansing and will cover:

  • Bringing Health and Transportation Together through Michigan Walkability Action Institutes
